Dr. Eng. Utomo Pratama Iskandar is the Head of the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Laboratory at LEMIGAS. He has extensive experience in reservoir engineering and CCS/CCUS, with involvement in projects covering CO2 storage capacity assessment, site screening and characterization, reservoir and geomechanical modelling, measurement, monitoring and verification (MMV), and CCS feasibility studies.
He also contributes to the development of CCS standards and regulatory frameworks in Indonesia as a member of ISO Technical Committee 265 Working Group 3 on CO2 Storage and as a permanent expert member of Indonesia’s BSN Technical Committee 13-16 on CCS.
Dr. Iskandar holds a Doctor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Waseda University, Japan, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Indonesia. His research and publications focus on CO2 geological storage, CCUS, reservoir modeling, and data-driven approaches for reservoir engineering.
