Ryuta Kitamura

Ryuta KITAMURA joined JAPEX (Japan Petroleum Exploration Company) in 1995. He worked as a drilling engineer overseas and domestically in Japan for 13 years. He moved to JOGMEC in 2008. He was in charge of technical evaluation for equity finance projects as well as R&D projects for drilling engineering. He worked in JOGMEC Sydney office from 2012 to 2015 as assistant general manager. He was in charge of technical promotion for Abu Dhabi as well as technical planning for R&D projects for oil and gas upstream from 2016 to 2018, then in charge of R&D projects for production and development technology in oil and gas upstream area from 2019 to 2022. He is leading “Advanced CCS Project in Japan” since 2023 and currently manages widely CCS related projects covered by JOGMEC. He has a bachelor degree of geo-system engineering from University of Tokyo.
