Advisor of Indonesia CCS Center
Since our inaugural forum in 2023, Indonesia has made tremendous progress in promoting Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) solutions, particularly in challenging sectors. Various issues, ranging from regulation, technology, to financing, have been successfully discussed. It was marked by the signing of approximately six cooperation agreements. The Indonesia CCS Center has demonstrated its role as a very strategic collaboration and problem-solving center.
To support the government in achieving its Net Zero Emission target by 2060, we are committed to hosting the second International and Indonesia CCS Forum on July 31 and August 1, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center.
This year’s forum is more than a continuation; it is a call to action. We aim to deepen collaboration among government agencies, academics, and industry players to accelerate CCS implementation. The event is more than discussions; it is a catalyst for transformative change and a platform for crucial investments in a sustainable future.
I invite everyone, including participants from the CCS industry and the general public, to actively participate in the 2nd International and Indonesia CCS Forum. Your involvement goes beyond mere dialogue; it represents an investment in shaping Indonesia’s low-carbon future by promoting a more profound awareness of CCS among the public, we can cultivate broad support for the adoption and integration of these technologies. In my role as an advisor to the Indonesia CCS Center, I am optimistic about our nation’s capacity to become a CCS Regional Hub, fostering both economic growth and sustainability.
Let us use this opportunity to propel Indonesia to the forefront of the global movement for a greener, more resilient planet. The 2nd International and Indonesia CCS Forum 2024 is our collective step towards Indonesia CCS Regional Hub and Net Zero Emission future.
Sincerely,
Jodi Mahardi
Advisor of Indonesia CCS Center

Building on the success of our inaugural event in 2023, we are dedicated to advancing the International and Indonesian CCS Forum with more dynamic and enriching discussions that foster the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences in the important field of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). It is my pleasure to welcome all participants, experts, and enthusiasts as we embark on the journey of the 2nd International and Indonesia CCS Forum, scheduled to take place on July 31 – August 1, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center.
The Indonesia CCS Center is proud to once again bring together a diverse community of professionals in engineering, science, policy, and business, all bound by a shared commitment to addressing the challenges posed by CO2 emissions. As an enabler in the CCS value chain, Indonesia CCS Center is confident that this gathering will generate innovative solutions to accelerate CCS deployment in Indonesia. Additionally, the event aims to raise public awareness and enhance understanding of CCS, with the belief of garnering widespread support for its deployment in Indonesia.
As we gather under the theme of the 2nd International and Indonesia CCS Forum 2024, we aim to underscore the critical importance of responsible management within the CCS industry. Our collective efforts are geared towards shaping a clearer, more structured CCS future that not only mitigates environmental impact but also contributes positively to economic growth, particularly in Indonesia.
