It is with great honor that i welcome you to The 3rd International & Indonesia Carbon Capture and Storage (IICCS) Forum 2025, held this year theme: “Advancing Indonesia as a CCS Hub Leader in the Asia Pacific: Achieving Net Zero and Economic Growth”. This event marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s journey toward becoming a regional leader in the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) industry, while addressing the dual challenges of climate change and sustainable economic development.
CCS is no longer a futuristic concept; it is a tangible and essential solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors, such as energy, manufacturing, and heavy industries. Indonesia, with its abundant natural resources, strategic location, and commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, is uniquely positioned to spearhead CCS development in the Asia Pacific region.
The IICCS Forum 2025, taking place on October 7-8 at The Mulia Senayan Hotel, is more than just a forum—it is a collaborative platform where industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders converge to share insights, forge partnerships, and drive actionable outcomes. From my perspective, the success of CCS in Indonesia hinges on three key pillars: innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity. We must leverage cutting-edge technologies, foster public-private partnerships, and ensure that the benefits of CCS are equitably distributed across all sectors of society. The IICCS Forum 2025 is designed to catalyze these efforts by bringing together diverse voices and perspectives to shape the future of CCS in Indonesia and beyond.
Let us use this forum as an opportunity to strengthen our resolve, inspire bold action, and solidify Indonesia’s position as a regional CCS leader. Together, we can unlock the full potential of CCS to achieve a sustainable, low-carbon future while driving economic prosperity for generations to come.
