We are excited to announce Alex Zapantis, General Manager of Global CCS Institute, as a confirmed moderator for the 2nd IICCS Forum 2024!
Alex joined the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute in 2016, leading a global team responsible for delivering the Institute’s event management, publication, advocacy, and public affairs functions. With a career spanning over 18 years, Alex has been deeply involved in climate change and CCS issues since 2006.
The first 12 years of Alex’s career were in Government and the Tertiary sector, focusing on radiation management and safety, nuclear policy, and environmental regulation and policy. Between 2006 and 2016, he held several roles at Rio Tinto Energy and Rio Tinto Coal Australia, concentrating on energy and climate policy, energy efficiency, greenhouse gas management, and product stewardship for coal and uranium. Additionally, Alex has served on the boards of the Energy Policy Institute of Australia, Australian Coal Association Low Emissions Technology Ltd, the World Coal Association, and the Coal Industry Advisory Board to the International Energy Agency.
